Oval Invincibles Squad 2023 – The Hundred is a professional franchise 100-ball cricket tournament comprising eight boys’ teams and eight girls’ teams based in major cities in England and Wales. The tournament is organized by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and will take place for the first time in July and August 2021.
The Oval Invincibles are a 100-ball cricket team based in South London. The team represents historic Surrey and Kent counties in the newly formed The Hundred, which will debut in the 2021 England and Wales cricket season.
Both men’s and women’s teams compete in the Oval. The announcement of a new eight-team men’s and women’s tournament for 2019 was not without controversy, with Virat Kohli amongst others criticizing the England and Wales Cricket Board for trying to move away from Kev Competitive Cricket, while others argue that the format, established and successful T20 format should follow.
However, the ECB decided to require a more specific format to attract more people. In August 2019, the team announced that Australian manager Tom Moody had become the first coach of the men’s team, and former England women’s Lydia Greenway had been appointed as head coach of the women’s team.
The inaugural Top 100 draft was made in October 2019, with the Invincibles naming Sam Curran as the male Team Captain and Laura Marsh as the female Team Captain. British internationals Tom Curran and Jason Roy joined the men’s team, while Fran Wilson joined Marsh in the women’s team.
