Manipal Tigers vs Bhilwara Kings Match Pitch Report

The pitch in Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium is relatively good for batting. The average score on this ground is 171. The team that wins the toss will look to bat first and put up a massive score on the board. If the bowlers manage to take wickets in the initial overs, it will be an exciting match between the bat and the ball.

What to expect:

Team news:

Manipal Tigers: Harbhajan Singh will be chuffed with his team’s recent performance especially his spell of 2 for 14 and a maiden from 4 Overs. It is a star-studded bowling attack in this Manipal Tigers side with Mitchell McClenaghan leading the pace attack.

The swing bowlers Praveen Kumar and Parvinder Awana will be the ones to watch out for. Awana finished with 4 for 19 from his 3 overs as the Tigers successfully defended 173 runs in their last match.

While not all of their batters rose to the occasion, it is a solid-looking batting lineup. Robin Uthappa and Chadwick Walton should be looking to convert their starts in this match.

The Zimbabwean batting all-rounder Hamilton Masakadza looked in great shape as he scored a quickfire 37 off 18 balls at number 3. The middle-order looks sorted with Colin de Grandhomme and Kyle Coetzer following in at 4 and 5.

Both failed to get going in the last game but are well-known for their big-hitting abilities and can play an impactful knock on their best day. At number 6, the Tigers have the bowling all-rounder from Sri Lanka, Thisara Perera, a solid finisher.

He scored 32 off 17 balls against Gujarat Giants and will be one to watch out for in the lower order.

Bhilwara Kings: Bhilwara Kings need to prepare for the upcoming challenge as the Tigers will pose many questions with the ball. If it wasn’t for the unbelievable knock from Irfan Pathan in their opening match, they wouldn’t have ended up on the winning side.

The skipper scored an unbeaten 65 off 19 balls at number 6 as the Kings chased down 229 runs with 3 wickets in hand. The top 3 of this batting order feature some of the best openers to have played T20 cricket.

Solomon Mire has opened the innings with Lendl Simmons and then with Tilakratne Dislhan so far. We reckon the best opening duo would be that of Simmons and Dilshan as both are attacking batters and can get the team off to a flying start.

In the middle-order Kings have Robin Bist and Pinal Shah two of the legends of Indian domestic cricket. Shah has also played a dozen IPL matches between 2008 and 2011.

Bhilwara Kings have some of the best finishers in Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan at 6 and 7 with the latter having already delivered a magical finish in the opening game.

They haven’t got many promising bowlers in the side and we reckon bringing in Shane Watson for the 45-year-old Ryan Sidebottom will help strengthen their bowling attack.

Manipal Tigers vs Bhilwara Kings Match Prediction

This should be a close game but we do see Bhilwara Kings as a better team owing to their batting depth and good bowlers. Giants, on the other hand, have a few good batsmen but lack quality in the bowling, especially the pacers. Bhilwara Kings are favourites for us.

We expect the Bhilwara Kings to win this match.

Manipal Tigers vs Bhilwara Kings Match Both Team Top Batsmen

Robin Uthappa, Hamilton Masakadza, and Colin de Grandhomme can be backed to come good. While Masakadza scored 37 off 18, Uthappa and De Grandhomme failed in the first game. However, both are good batters and can be backed to come good.

Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan could not get going in the last game but both are dangerous batters. Lendl Simmons scored 99 and almost helped the team win against Gujarat Giants, however, he could not close the game as the team lost by 3 runs in a chase of 173.

Manipal Tigers vs Bhilwara Kings Match Both Team Top Team Bowlers

The bowling will depend on the shoulders of Harbhajan Singh, Parvinder Awana, and Imran Khan. Harbhajan picked up 2 wickets in the first game while Awana bagged a four-wicket haul. Imran Khan also bowled well. The bowling unit needs to come good again.

Spinners Rahul Sharma and Jesal Karia showed good control with the ball and bagged two wickets each. Anureet Singh also bowled well with the new ball. The three will be good picks for wicket-takers.
