Northern Superchargers Squad 2023 – The Hundred is a professional franchise 100-ball cricket tournament comprising eight boys’ teams and eight girls’ teams based in major cities in England and Wales. The tournament is organized by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and will take place for the first time in July and August 2021.
Northern Superchargers are a 100-ball cricket team based in Leeds. The team represents the traditional regions of the North East and Yorkshire at The Hundred, which takes place for the first time in the 2021 England and Wales cricket season.
Both the boys’ and girls’ teams will play at their home in Headingley. The announcement of a new eight-team men’s and women’s tournament for 2019 was not without controversy, with Virat Kohli criticizing the England and Wales Cricket Board for trying to move away from Cricket, while others should follow the format, the established and successful T20 format.
However, the ECB decided to require a more specific format to attract more people.
In August 2019, the team announced that former Australian batsman Darren Lehmann would become the first head coach of the men’s team, while former England women’s player Danielle Hazel was appointed head coach of the mothers’ group.
The inaugural Top 100 draft was made in October 2019 when Superchargers announced Ben Stokes as the opening men’s rookie and Lauren Winfield-Hill for the Women. England national team Adil Rashid and David Willey joined the men’s team, while Linsey Smith joined Winfield-Hill’s women’s team.
